Guided Learning Hours (GLH)

Guided Learning Hours (GLH) represent the total time a learner spends in direct engagement with an instructor, such as a lecturer, tutor, trainer, or other qualified education provider. This includes real-time teaching, supervision, and support to aid the learner’s understanding of the subject. For this qualification, the GLH is set at 229 hours.

Total Qualification Time (TQT)

Total Qualification Time (TQT) is an estimate of the overall duration a learner is expected to dedicate to successfully attaining the required level of competency for the qualification. This includes GLH along with additional independent study, preparation, and assessment activities conducted outside direct supervision. The total TQT for this qualification is 450 hours. Where applicable, credit values are determined based on TQT, with one credit equating to 10 hours of learning.
