Section 1 summary:

In this unit, learners will explore the definition of bullying, and different types of bullying that take place, including cyberbullying. Learners will also be introduced to the different types of discrimination, and why children and young people may engage in discriminatory bullying.

Section 2 summary:

In this units, learners will be able to outline the fundamental aspects of anti-bullying policies and legislation, such as the Education Act 2002, the Children Act 1989 and the Education and Inspections Act 2006. They will also learn the importance of an anti-bullying policy within schools, and what it should contain.

Section 3 summary:

Learners will explore why some children and young people may be at higher risk of being bullied than others, and how to recognise the signs of bullying. This section will also cover the short and long-term effects of bullying on the victim and the bully.

Section 4 summary:

In the final unit, learners will cover ways in which educators, parents and children themselves can help to prevent bullying. They will also be introduced to ways in which a child or young person who is being bullied can be supported, how schools can intervene, and how to approach a bully, as well as organisations who provide support.
