Assess Health and Social Care learners and support Functional Skills to ensure qualification completion and industry compliance through NxtGen’s platform.

Role Overview

NxtGen Education is a training provider based in Oldham with an online learning platform offering courses designed to help learners develop practical skills and progress in their careers. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Health & Social Care Assessor to support and assess learners working towards Health & Social Care qualifications, while also providing support for Functional Skills at Level 1 and Level 2 where required. The successful candidate will guide learners through their qualification, ensuring they meet industry standards and successfully complete their programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess learners working towards Health & Social Care qualifications in line with awarding body and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and guide learners through their coursework, portfolios, and workplace evidence.
  • Plan and conduct assessments, observations, and reviews to monitor learner progress.
  • Deliver or support Functional Skills in English and/or Maths at Level 2 and Level 3 where required.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to help learners achieve their qualifications.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, assessment documentation, and progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding body standards, quality assurance procedures, and safeguarding policies.
  • Liaise with employers, training managers, and internal teams to support learner development.
  • Conduct regular learner reviews and support sessions to track progress and address any challenges.
  • Use e-portfolio systems and internal platforms to manage learner evidence and documentation.

Person Specification

  • Essential Requirements
    • Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care.
    • Assessor qualification. 
    • Experience working within the Health & Social Care sector.
    • Good understanding of Functional Skills.
    • Strong organisational and time management skills.
    • Excellent communication and learner support skills.
    • Competent in using Microsoft Office and online learning platforms/e-portfolios.

 

  • Desirable
    • Previous experience assessing apprenticeships or vocational qualifications.
    • Teaching or training qualification.
    • Experience supporting adult learners in a training or educational environment.

Working Hours

100 hours per Month (Monday to Friday)
