Understanding Domestic Abuse

Almost one in three women aged 16-59 will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime’ ‘Two women a week are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales alone’ ‘In the year ending March 2019, 1.6 million women experiences domestic abuse.’

This course will equip learners with a detailed understanding of domestic abuse. Learners will learn about the many aspects of domestic abuse, including legal definitions, the signs of domestic abuse and the dynamics of relationships that lead to domestic abuse. They will also consider the impact on different demographics, and how to react, report and signpost instances of disclosure.
